If you are new to the vaping world or looking for an upgrade, this Vape Kit FAQs section is perfect for you. We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions to provide you with the necessary information to make an informed decision.
What does it mean when your vape crackles?
Most often this will be caused by your vaping device needing a replacement coil - faulty or damaged coils will cause this. Alternatively, your device’s wattage could be too low. If it is too low to properly heat the coil, it can cause flooding and gurgling. Finally, watch that you haven’t added excess liquid to your tank, or even over-saturated your coil when priming.
Mouth to lung (MTL) vs Direct to lung (DTL) - What's the difference?
MTL - Mouth to lung
So mouth to lung vaping is where you draw the vapor into your mouth, before subsequently inhaling it into your lungs. This is a good way for beginners to start vaping, and also closely replicates the act of smoking a cigarette. It also uses slightly less vape juice, plus fractionally enhances the way you can hold the flavor in your mouth.
DTL - Direct to lung
Involves inhaling the vapor from an e-cigarette directly into the lungs, just like taking a normal breath.
How do you know which is the right one for you?
MTL
o Restrictive feel like a cigarette
o Less cloud (vapor) production
DTL
o More flavor
o Easy to inhale
o Increased cloud (vapor) production
Vape device problems and how to fix them?
Vaping should be a hassle-free and enjoyable experience. However, sometimes, device problems can leave you pretty frustrated. Fortunately, most vape problems are easy to solve. Here’s a troubleshooting guide comprising the most common vape issues.
Problem 1: Vape battery not working
Many vape mods and batteries can be turned on and off by clicking the firing button several times consecutively. The user manual will suggest if you should press the button 3, 5 or 6 times, depending on your vape and battery type. Also, check for connection issues. Dust or debris in the terminal between your tank and the battery can cause problems. Clear out any gunked-up vape juice using a cotton bud. Another common error is if you are using external 18650 batteries, check that you have inserted your batteries the correct way (+/-).
Problem 2: The OLED screen says there’s no atomizer
This is a common problem caused when the device is knocked, dropped, or transported in your pocket. Rotate your device while continuing to look at the tank to check if it is crooked. You can fix the problem by repairing the tank or buying a new one. Another reason for this problem is vape juice clogging the connection at the base. Make sure there’s no clog, and check the coil to see if it is loose.
Problem 3: Not receiving any draw from the vaping device
Check the battery, liquid, and connections if you’re not getting any draw from your device. Your battery should have enough charge, the tank must have sufficient e-liquid, and the connection between the Vape coil and vape battery should be clean for the vapour to release.
Problem 4: The e-liquid is leaking through the airflow
There are a number of reasons as to why your e-liquid could be leaking. Below are some of the most common issues:
1. If you leave your device in direct heat, it can cause overheating and thinning of the e-liquid. In this case try removing your device from the direct heat and fill your tank up with fresh eliquid.
2. Check the coil to ensure there isn’t a need for replacement. Try look out for signs of a burnt taste whilst vaping or the cotton is starting to turn black inside the coil itself.
3. Finally the most common issue is the wattage range you are running your device. More often then not you will be running your device at 30 watts but the coil inside your tank is made to handle 60 to 80 watts. This is why it is crucial to check the wattage range suitable for your installed coil and preferably run it mid to higher of the recommended range. E.g. a 60 to 80 watt coil would be best run at 70 to 80 watts.
Conclusion
Don’t let device problems hamper your vaping experience. Check this list for solutions to common problems and quickly get back to enjoying your vape.
